In this post, I am going to be ranking 9 different Hoisin Sauces for sugar content. Hoisin sauce is one of my favorite sauces – perfect as a dipping sauce, in stir fry, or as a gaze (it even works on tacos… trust me). If you are wondering what it is, then let me tell you. Hoisin sauce is a thick dark brown/reddish sauce used commonly in Chinese cuisine as a cooking ingredient or a table condiment. It is traditionally made from soybeans, garlic, spices, chilies, water, and some type of sweetener. If you love Hoisin sauce as much as I do but are watching your sugar, you may want to know what the best low sugar options are. So, what exactly is the sugar content of Hoisin sauce and what are some lower sugar Hoisin Sauce brands?
