At this point, you may be wondering what exactly is tonic water? Well, tonic water is carbonated water that has quinine dissolved in it. First up on this list, I looked at Zevia tonic water. This tonic water doesn’t contain any sugar – instead, it is sweetened with stevia and there is 0g of total sugar per serving. This tonic water also has the benefit of being made of plant-based ingredients. So, if you are looking for sugar-free tonic water, I would definitely check out Zevia tonic water.

2. Diet Canada Dry Tonic Water – 0g of Total Sugar

Another great sugar free tonic water comes from one of the big tonic water brands – Canada Dry. Canada Dry diet tonic water is sweetened with sodium saccharin and contains 0g of sugar per serving. This means if you are looking for sugar-free tonic water this could be another great option for you.

3. Schweppes Diet Tonic Water – 0g of Total Sugar

4. Q Light Tonic Water – 2.7g of Total Sugar

Q Light Tonic Water is sweetened with both erythritol and sugar. The nutritional label shows that a 222ml serving of this tonic water contains 4g of sugar. For the purposes of this post, I have pro-rated the sugar content for a 150ml serving. This means there would be 2.7g of sugar in a 150ml serving – still an impressively low sugar content.

5. Fever-Tree Light Tonic Water – 4g of Total Sugar

Fever Tree makes some great high-quality mixers (as their saying goes – “if 3/4 of your drink is mixer, mix with the best“). The light tonic water from Fever Tree is no exception. Fever Tree light tonic water is sweetened with fructose, which is fruit sugar. There are only 4g of sugar per 150ml serving of Fever Tree Light Tonic water.

6. Q Mixers Tonic Water – 7.4g of Sugar

I established above that Q Mixers light tonic water is sweetened with sugar and erythritol and contains 2.7g of sugar 150ml serving. But how about Q Mixers regular tonic? Well, it is sweetened with organic agave and contains 11g of sugar per 222 ml serving – this equates to 7.4g in a 150 ml serving.

7. Schweppes Indian Tonic Water – 7.7g of Total Sugar

I also established above that diet Schweppes tonic water contains 0g of sugar, but how about regular Schweppes tonic water? Well, the regular Schweppes tonic water is sweetened with sugar and sodium saccharin and contains 7.7g of sugar per 150ml serving.

8. East Imperial Premium Yuzu Tonic Water – 11.6g of Total Sugar

Above I showed you that Fever Trees light tonic water contains 4g of sugar per 150ml serving. Their regular tonic water does contain a bit more at 12g of sugar per 150ml serving. And in case you are wondering, the sweetener used is sugar.

10. Amazon Brand Happy Belly Tonic Water – 12.9g of Total Sugar

Amazon’s Happy Belly tonic water is sweetened with high fructose corn syrup. There are 31g of sugar per 360ml serving – this equates to 12.9g of sugar per 150ml serving.

11. Canada Dry Tonic Water – 13.5g of Total Sugar

The final tonic water I examined is Canada Dry. This tonic water is also sweetened with high fructose corn syrup. There are 32g of sugar per 355ml serving – this equates to 13.5g of sugar per 150ml serving.

My Personal Pick?
