10 Lower Sugar Coconut Yogurts – Item by Item

In this section, I will go through each of my 10 picks for the best lower sugar coconut yogurts.

1. The Coconut Cult Organic Original Probiotic Coconut Yogurt – 1g of Total Sugar

First up – the Coconut Cult coconut yogurt. Before we dig into it, can we please take a moment to appreciate how cute the packing of this coconut yogurt is? I mean the pink, the flamingos – it just all works! You can peek at this coconut yogurt on Amazon here.

This coconut yogurt’s main USP is the fact it has a lot (and I mean a lot) of probiotics added. One thing that isn’t added – sugar? There is 1g of total sugar (from the coconut) per serving. Bear in mind their recommended serving is small (33g) due to the high level of probiotics.

Basically, The Coconut Cult recommend you start with just two tablespoons of their yogurt until your stomach gets used to the probiotics.

2. Cocojune Organic Pure Coconut – 2g of Total Sugar

Next up is another probiotic coconut yogurt – this time Cocojune. This yogurt is also organic. There is no added sugar and there is only 2g of total sugar per serving. A serving is defined as a whole 4oz (114g) cup, so on a sugar per gram of yogurt basis this coconut yogurt actually has the lowest sugar count on this list.

You can check Cocojune coconut yogurt out on Amazon here.

3. GT’s Living Foods Organic Raspberry Cocoyo – 4g of Total Sugar

GT’s Living Food’s coconut yogurt is also a probiotic powerhouse yogurt that ‘nourishes your gut with good bacteria to aid digestion.’ You can check out the delicious raspberry flavor on Amazon here (it’s worth buying for the beautiful pink color of the yogurt alone).

There is no added sugar – instead, this yogurt is sweetened with stevia. There are 4g of total sugar per serving and a serving is defined as half a cup (113g).

4. GT’s Living Foods Organic Peach Nectarine Cocoyo – 4g of Total Sugar

If you like the sound of GT Living Food’s probiotic coconut yogurt above, but you aren’t such a big raspberry fan, then how about trying the peach nectarine version? If you like the sound of that you can try GT Living Food’s peach nectarine coconut yogurt on Amazon here.

This coconut yogurt contains peach, nectarine, and fruit and vegetable juices. Like its raspberry yogurt, it is sugar free and is sweetened with stevia. It also contains 4g of total sugar in a half-cup serving.

5. Harmless Harvest Plain Coconut Yogurt – 7g of Total Sugar

I have talked about Harmless Harvest before in the post I wrote on the best no added sugar coconut waters, which you can read here – 10 No Added Sugar Coconut Waters.

Not only does Harmless Harvest make coconut water, but they also make coconut yogurt. Their yogurts are organic and have added probiotics. This coconut yogurt is sweetened with organic cane sugar and there are 7g of total sugar per 3/4 cup (170g) serving – 6g of this is added sugar. You can find Harmless Harvest on Amazon here.

6. Cocojune Organic Strawberry & Rhubarb – 7g of Total Sugar

I talked about Cocojune organic plain coconut yogurt above – in fact, it is the lowest sugar coconut yogurt on this list! Well, Cocojune does also have a strawberry and rhubarb flavor. That’s the good news. The bad news is that it does contain some cane sugar bringing the total sugar content per 4oz cup to 7g of sugar (4g of which is added).

You can find Cocojune strawberry & rhubarb coconut yogurt on Amazon here.

7. Siggi’s Toasted Plant-Based Coconut Blend – 8g of Total Sugar

This coconut yogurt from Siggi’s is sweetened with cane sugar. The container of yogurt (150g) contains 8g of sugar – 7g of which is added. There are also 10g of protein per container.

This coconut yogurt from Culina is such an amazing and unique flavor combination – blueberry lavender. A 5 oz (142g) container of Culina blueberry lavender yogurt contains 8g of total sugar – 7g of this is added.

I love the fact that a more natural sweetener is used in this yogurt – organic maple syrup. You can find Culina blueberry lavender coconut yogurt on Amazon here.

10. Culina Bourbon Vanilla Coconut Yogurt – 9g of Total Sugar

Another amazing coconut yogurt from Culina is their bourbon vanilla flavored. Like their blueberry lavender flavor, this coconut yogurt is sweetened with organic maple syrup. 10 Lower Sugar Coconut Yogurts - Coconut

10 Lower Sugar Coconut Yogurts – The Final Bite

Lower sugar coconut yogurts. What have we learned from the above? Well, when it comes to lower sugar coconut yogurts, the first thing we need to understand is the sugar content per serving size. All these yogurts have different suggested serving sizes which can make working out the sugar content a little confusing. Secondly, there are no sugar-free coconut yogurts available. All the brands listed contain some naturally occurring sugar which is a result of using coconut as a base ingredient. However, if you want the lowest sugar option then the best option is Cocojune’s Organic Pure Coconut yogurt which on a per-gram basis comes out with the lowest sugar content.
