In this post, I am going to be ranking 12 different soy milk brands based on sugar content. When it comes to dairy alternatives soy milk is the “original”. Soy milk has been the main plant-based alternative for decades. This isn’t so much the case anymore with more plant-based alternatives like almond, cashew, hemp, flax, and macadamia nuts milks now also being commonly available to buy. However, if you still love soy milk what exactly is the sugar content of some soy milk brands, and which soy milks have the least amount of sugar?
As a general rule, the following brands make unsweetened soy milks that contain <1g-3g of total sugar per serving –
- 365;
- Silk;
- Hanmi;
- Now Foods;
- Eden; and
- WestSoy.
In comparison, sweetened soy milk contains 6g-19g of sugar per serving.
12 Soy Milks Ranked by Sugar Content – Item by Item
In this section, I will go through all 12 of the above-listed soy milks ranked by sugar content.
1. 365 by Whole Foods Market Unsweetened Organic Soy Milk – <1g of Total Sugar
First up, 365’s unsweetened organic soy milk. I love the fact that this soy milk is not only organic but also contains no added sugar. There is only <1g of total sugar per serving in this soy milk. This soy milk is also carrageenan free. Love.
You can buy this soy milk via Amazon here.
2. Silk Unsweetened Organic Soy Milk – <1g of Total Sugar
This soy milk from Silk is also organic and contains no added sugar, and it also has the added benefit of being shelf stable. This means if a no added sugar, shelf-stable, organic soy milk is what you are looking for this is it. It even contains 8g of protein per serving. It must be good as this soy milk is the number 1 best seller for soy milk on Amazon.
You can find it on Amazon here.
3. Hanmi Korean Soybean Sugar-Free Soy Milk – 1g of Total Sugar
This soy milk from Hanmi is sugar free, shelf stable, and contains no additives. It is made from fully grounded Korean soybeans. I love how simple the ingredient list of this soy milk is, as well as the fact it is high in calcium.

4. Now Foods Organic Soy Milk Powder – 1g of Total Sugar
If you are looking for a no added sugar soy powder that you can mix with water to make soy milk, then look no further than Now Foods. What I love most about this soy powder is the simple ingredients list – the ingredient list is literally just “organic soy milk powder”. How awesome is that!

5. Eden Soymilk Unsweetened Organic – 2g of Total Sugar

12 Soy Milks Ranked For Sugar Content – The Final Bite
Soy milks ranked for sugar content. What have we learned from the above? Well, when it comes to Soy Milk there are fewer no added sugar options than in comparison to other styles of plant-based milk (like Almond, Cashew, etc.). None of the above entries contain 0g of total sugar – with the lowest sugar options containing <1g of sugar. That is still low, but if you are watching your sugar intake there are other zero-sugar plant-based milk options available.
