Sonic. It is the drive-thru fast food chain everybody loves where the servers come to your car in roller skates. We all know that Sonic is a fast food chain but does Sonic have any sugar-free things? You will be surprised! I have already covered the sugar content of Sonic drinks quite thoroughly in three previous posts. Basically, their famous slush drinks cannot be made sugar-free due to sugar in the base but the sugar content of a slush can at least be limited by ordering with sugar-free syrup. As I have already looked closely at the sugar content of Sonic’s drinks I thought it was time Sonic’s food menu got the once over in terms of sugar content. In this post, I will be presenting you with the 16 food items currently on the Sonic menu that contain just 0g to 1g of sugar. So let’s dig in – does Sonic have sugar-free things?
Does Sonic Have Sugar-Free items?
As a general rule, Sonic does have sugar-free things. Some of the sugar-free (0g-1g of sugar) food at Sonic includes fries, tots, some chicken items, some of the breakfast burritos, Fritos chili pie as well as some cheesy menu items. Sonic also has some sugar-free drinks to wash their sugar-free food down with.
1. Small or Medium Fries – 0g of Total Sugar
One of the best sugar-free food items at Sonic is…drum roll please…their fries of course! There are 0g of sugar in a small or medium portion of Sonic fries, making them a great sugar-free food option at Sonic! The next question is – what sugar-free sauces does Sonic have to dip said fries in? Well, their light may, mustard, and salsa de Sonic all contain 0g of sugar! Dip away!
2. Small or Medium Tots – 0g of Total Sugar
If tots are more your thing then I have some good news. A small or medium portion of the total at Sonic is also sugar-free!
3. Crispy Tenders (2 or 5 Pieces) – 0g of Total Sugar
If you are looking for a sugar-free item to pair with your tots or fries at Sonic then your best option is their crispy tenders (2 or 5 pieces). Yup, that’s right – there are 0g of sugar in these bad boys!
4. Bacon Jr Breakfast Burrito – 0g of Total Sugar
The above three items cover the main 0g of sugar lunch/dinner options at Soni. But if you happen to be in a Sonic early in the morning looking for a sugar-free breakfast, there are also some options. Sonic’s Bacon Jr Breakfast Burrito, for example, contains 0g of sugar – if you are looking for a sugar-free light breakfast at Sonic then this could be it!
5. Sausage Jr Breakfast Burrito – 0g of Total Sugar
The other completely sugar-free breakfast item at Sonic is their Sausage Jr Breakfast Burrito. If a Jr size sounds too small for you then keep reading to find out about other low-sugar Sonic breakfast options.
6. Small Fritos Chili Pie – 1g of Total Sugar
So above are all five 0g of sugar food items at Sonic. Several food items at Sonic contain just 1g of sugar. For example, their small Fritos Chili pie. Now what on earth is a Fritos Chili Pie I hear you ask. Good question. It is basically the Fritos with chili and melted cheese on top. Now you know.
7. Small Chili Cheese Fries – 1g of Total Sugar
It probably shouldn’t come as a surprise then that there is also just 1g of sugar in a small portion of Sonic’s chili cheese fries.
8. Small Chili Cheese Tots – 1g of Total Sugar
The same is true for a small portion of Sonic’s chili cheese tots. Just 1g of sugar baby!!

It is of course the same with a small or medium portion of Sonic tots. Order it with cheese on top and it will only set you back 1g of sugar.

If you love the Ched R Bites at Sonic (basically little cheesy bites) then I am sure you will be super pleased to find out that there is only 1g of total sugar per serving.
12. Buffalo Boneless Wings (6 or 12 pieces) – 1g of Total Sugar
I established above that a 2 or 5-piece portion of Sonic’s crispy tenders is completely sugar-free. Well, another very low-sugar chicken option at Sonic is their Buffalo Boneless Wings. There is just 1g of sugar in a 6 or 12-piece serving of Buffalo Boneless Wings.
13. Small or Medium Jumbo Popcorn Chicken – 1g of Total Sugar
Another chicken option at Sonic that contains just 1g of sugar is a small or medium portion of their jumbo popcorn chicken.
14. Bacon Breakfast Burrito – 1g of Total Sugar
I mentioned above that a junior bacon Breakfast burrito at Sonic contains 0g of sugar. Well, if the junior portion is too small for you, I have some good news – there is just 1g of sugar in the full-sized version.
15. Sausage Breakfast Burrito – 1g of Total Sugar
It is the same sugar situation with the sausage breakfast burrito – 1g of sugar in this bad boy.
16. Ultimate Breakfast Meat and Cheese Burrito – 1g of Total Sugar
