Well in this article I will be telling you. Lowest Sugar Juices and Shakes at Joe & The Juice

In this section, I will go through the lowest-sugar juices and shakes at Joe & The Juice.

1. For The Plot – 24g of Sugar

The first drink on this list is a shake. That’s right – a shake. And not any old shake – a vegan shake! For The Plot vegan shake is made from banana, beetroot powder, ice, oat drink, peanut butter, protein, and strawberries. There are 24g of sugar in a For the Plot vegan shake. This is by far the lowest sugar shake at Joe & The Juice.

The rest of the vegan shakes contain 40g+ to 50g+ of sugar in terms of sugar. For example, the Red Supreme vegan shake contains 57g of sugar. The non-vegan shakes at Joe & The Juice contain 49g-60g of sugar.

2. Green Sport Juice – 23g of Sugar

The Green Sport Juice is a lower sugar juice compared to the fruitier varieties (for example Joe’s AMG contains 44g of sugar). But it is still relatively higher in sugar for green juice (you will see below that other green juices at Joe & The Juice contain as little as 6g of sugar).

A Green Sport Juice is made with apple, cucumber, ice, and pineapple. The Green Sports Juice is a great juice to start with if you are trying to move to lower-sugar juices than the fruitier ones. It gets you trying a juice that is lower in sugar than the fruitier options, but it still has sweetness from the pineapple and apple. As you start to get used to green juice you can then start to move to some of the even lower-sugar green juices below.

3. Prince of Green Juice – 12g of Sugar

Even better the Prince of Green Juice has almost half the sugar content of the Green Sport Juice at 12g of sugar. The Prince of Green Juice is made from cucumber, ice, lemon, and pineapple. See the difference choosing a non-apple-based juice makes.

4. Joe’s Identity – 8g of Sugar

Joe’s Identity is another of Joe & The Juice’s lowest sugar juices and guess what…it’s a green juice. Joe’s Identity is made of broccoli, cucumber, ice, kale, lemon, and spinach. It contains a mere 8g of sugar. Joe’s Identity is part of the signature range. The rest of Joe’s signature range contains 32g-47g of sugar – so 8g is super low in comparison.

5. Green Tonic Juice – 6g of Sugar

The lowest sugar full-sized juice at Joe & The Juice is their Green Tonic Juice. The Green Tonic Juice is made of cucumber, celery, kale & ice, and contains 6g of sugar in a 16oz cup.

As you can see, all the lower-sugar juices at Joe & The Juice are green juices.

All the remaining juices at Joe & The Juice (that aren’t listed above) contain 30+ to 40+ grams of sugar.

6. Turmeric Shot – 5g of Sugar

It probably isn’t going to be a huge surprise that a juice shot is a lower sugar option given the size of them. The Turmeric Shot is made from apple, ice, lemon, pepper, and turmeric and there are 5g of sugar in a shot.

7. Ginger Shot – 4g of Sugar

The ginger shot at Joe & The Juice is even lower in sugar at 4g of sugar. The ginger shot is made of apple, ginger, and ice.

Lowest Sugar Teas and Coffees at Joe & The Juice

Everybody knows that Joe & The Juice make awesome juices (the clue is in the name) but did you also know that they make great tea and coffee drinks too? I.e., that is the “Joe” part of the name.

When it comes to the tea and coffee drinks at Joe & The Juice there are two general rules to follow to order a lower-sugar tea or coffee drink.

Two Rules to Get Low Sugar Coffee Drinks at Joe & The Juice

These two rules are:

  • ORDER your tea or coffee with almond milk. Almond milk is the lowest sugar milk option at Joe & The Juice, with oat milk being the second lowest sugar option and dairy milk being the highest sugar option (dairy milk is high in naturally occurring sugar from lactose). A pink latte ordered with dairy milk contains 19g of sugar but only 12g of sugar if ordered with almond milk.
  • AVOID chai lattes, mochas, and hot chocolates. This shouldn’t come as a huge surprise that these are the highest-sugar hot drinks.

So, let’s dig in – what are the lowest-sugar teas and coffee at Joe & The Juice?

What are the Lowest Sugar Coffee Drinks at Joe & The Juice

1. Pink Latte with Almond Milk – 12g of Sugar

Okay, so when I first started trawling through Joe & The Juice’s coffee menu, I thought they had some pretty unique lattes. Then I realized that the color in front of the coffee is just referring to the color of the cup and the different sizes of cups are different colors.

Got it.

So, the “Pink” latte is made in a pink 16oz cup. If you order your pink latte with almond milk it will clock in 12g of sugar.

If you want to see how this compares to the sugar content of lattes in coffee chains, make sure to check out the following post I wrote – How Do You Order a Latte with Less Sugar?

2. Iced Latte with Almond Milk – 12g of Sugar

A 16oz iced latte made with almond milk will also contain 12g of sugar (I guess a quarter of the larger cup is taken up with ice).

3. Matcha Latte with Almond Milk – 12g of Sugar

As a total matcha addict (which my husband can attest to) I am often shocked at the sugar content of matcha lattes out and about (you can read more about it here – Does Matcha Contain A Lot of Sugar?). But I am pleased to report that the sugar content of a matcha latte at Joe & The Juice is not very high, especially if ordered with almond milk.

A matcha latte (hot or iced) ordered with almond milk contains 12g of sugar. Not bad at all.

If you want to see how this compares to the sugar content of matcha lattes at other coffee places, make sure to check out the following post I wrote on the topic – Does Matcha Contain A Lot of Sugar?

4. Vanilla Matcha Latte with Almond Milk – 12g of Sugar

I have even better news – if you opt for a vanilla matcha latte the vanilla doesn’t add any sugar to your drink. A vanilla latte with almond milk, hot or iced, at Joe & The Juice, will still contain 12g of sugar.

5. Yellow Latte with Almond Milk – 7g of Sugar

The yellow latte at Joe & The Juice is a latte in their 12oz yellow cup. Now you know. One of these bad boys ordered with (yup) almond milk will contain 7g of sugar.

A cappuccino at Joe & The Juice also contains 7g of sugar if ordered with almond milk. That’s because the cappuccino also comes in a 12oz cup.

If you want to see how this compares to the sugar content of cappuccinos at other coffee places, make sure to check out the following post I wrote on the topic – Is There Any Sugar in a Cappuccino?

7. Purple Cortado with Almond Milk – 4g of Sugar

The purple Cortado is basically a short coffee drink in an 8oz cup. If ordered with almond milk, a purple Cortado only contains 4g of sugar.

8. Flat White with Almond Milk – 4g of Sugar

A flat white also comes in an 8oz cup and contains 4g of sugar if ordered with almond milk.

9. Grey Macchiato with Almond Milk – 2g of Sugar

A grey Macchiato may come in a 4oz cup but because it contains a fair bit of foam it is actually the lowest sugar milky espresso-based coffee at Joe & The Juice. A grey Macchiato with almond milk contains 2g of sugar.

10. Black Coffee (Cup of Joe, Espresso, Iced Americano, Drip Coffee & Cold Brew) – 0g of Sugar

Any of the black coffee drinks at Joe & The Juice of course are sugar-free and contain 0g of sugar. This includes a Cup of Joe, Espresso, Iced Americano, Drip Coffee & Cold Brew.

11. Tea – 0g of Sugar

Finally, Joe & the Juice also has an awesome selection of teas available that are of course sugar-free. The tea selection consists of lemon & ginger tea, breakfast tea, and green tea.
