Everyone loves orange soda, right? But exactly how much sugar is in orange soda and which orange sodas are sugar-free? This is the question I am going to be answering in this post.
In order to answer this question, I examined the sugar content of the most popular orange sodas out there to see how they stack up against each other in terms of sugar content. I also searched high and low for the best sugar-free and low-sugar orange soda options out there.
So, let’s dig in – which orange soda has the most sugar, and which orange sodas are sugar-free?
What Are the Lowest Sugar Orange Sodas?
As a general rule, there are 43g-44g of sugar in a 12oz can of orange soda. There are, however, sugar-free orange sodas available that are sweetened with aspartame, acesulfame potassium, inulin, and/or stevia.
Ranking the Sugar Content of Orange Sodas
In this section, I will go through and rank eight different brands of orange sodas based on sugar content (in descending order). The sugar content is based on a 12 oz can of soda.
1. Fanta Orange – 44g of Sugar
Okay first up is arguably the most well-recognized orange soda out there – Fanta Orange. How much sugar is in a can of Fanta Orange? There are 44g of sugar in a 12oz can of Fanta Orange.

2. Sunkist Orange – 44g of Sugar
Sunkist Orange contains exactly the same amount of sugar as Fanta Orange. How much sugar is in Sunkist Orange? There is 44g of sugar in a 12oz can of Sunkist Orange.
3. Crush Orange Soda – 43g of Sugar
The other most well-recognized orange soda brand, Crush contains slightly less sugar at 43g of sugar per 12oz can. But to be honest there is barely anything in it.
Which Has More Sugar – Orange Soda vs Other Sodas
It seems fairly safe to conclude that most full-sugar orange sodas contain 43g-44g of sugar per 12oz can. However, to put that in perspective – that is more than a can of Coke! There are in comparison 39g of sugar in a 12oz can of Coke.

Okay, the next orange soda entry is a super interesting one. Poppi sparkling prebiotics orange soda is made of a combination of apple cider vinegar, seltzer water, and fruit juice. It also contains prebiotics!

Well, Poppi orange soda is sweetened with organic cane sugar, organic inulin, and stevia. As a result, it has a mere 5g of sugar in a can. How much of a win is that?

5. Fanta Zero Orange – 0g of Sugar
I established above that there are 44g of sugar in a 12oz can of Fanta Orange. So, the question arises – does Fanta make sugar-free orange soda?
The answer. Of course, they do – enter Fanta Zero Orange.
This sugar-free orange soda is sweetened with aspartame and contains 0g of sugar per serving.
