Which Colas contain no sugar? In this post, I am going to be sharing the sugar content of the most popular soda out there. Cola. Now, we all know that full-sugar Coke and Pepsi aren’t exactly the lowest sugar drinks out there (there are 39g and 41g of sugar in a 12oz can respectively). So, what are the best sugar-free cola drinks out there? For when you want that unmistakable cola taste but without all the sugar. It is time to find out what exactly are the lowest sugar cola options available from grocery stores.

In this post, I will be presenting you with 10 of the best sugar-free cola drinks out there. Now it shouldn’t come as any surprise that sugar-free Pepsi and Coke make appearances on this list. But so do some lesser-known sugar-free colas. All of these are often sweetened with sweeteners such as stevia, monk fruit, sucralose, and/or erythritol. Make sure to read right to the end to find out what my number 1 sugar-free cola recommendation is.

What are The Best Sugar-Free Colas?

As a general rule there are sugar-free colas available from the following brands –

  • Zevia
  • Virgil’s
  • Green Cola
  • Diet Rite
  • Shasta
  • Tuscanini
  • Coca-cola
  • Pepsi

These sugar-free colas are sweetened with stevia, monk fruit, sucralose, acesulfame potassium, aspartame, and/or erythritol.

Before we dig in, if you are interested in the sugar content of other sodas make sure to check out the following posts I have written:

1. Zevia Cola

First up is a brand I also talked about in my post on the sugar content of orange soda, which you can read here – Which Orange Soda Has the Most Sugar and which are sugar-free?

What is particularly amazing about this cola from Zevia is that it is sweetened with stevia and no aspartame. This sugar-free cola is also available in a caffeine-free version.

You can treat yourself to this stevia-sweetened cola on Amazon here.

2. Virgil’s Zero Sugar Cola

Virgil’s is perhaps most well-known for its root beer and cream soda (on that note if you are interested in the sugar content of root beer and cream soda make sure to check out these posts I wrote – How Much Sugar is in Root Beer and How Much Sugar is in Cream Soda). But Virgil’s also makes cola. A sugar-free keto cola no less.

Virgil’s sugar-free cola is also sweetened with stevia, as well as monk fruit and erythritol.

Virgil’s zero-sugar cola can conveniently be found on Amazon here.

3. Green Cola

Green Cola is, as the name may suggest, a more natural cola drink. The sweetener used is stevia (I am noticing a trend here). What is particularly special about this coffee is that its caffeine comes from green coffee beans. Wow.

Green Cola can be found on Amazon here.

4. Diet Rite Cola

If for whatever reason you are looking for a sugar-free cola that isn’t sweetened with stevia, then you should check out Diet Rite Cola on Amazon here.

This cola is sweetened with sucralose and acesulfame potassium.

5. Shasta Diet Cola

Another sugar-free cola that is sweetened with sucralose and acesulfame potassium is Shasta Diet Cola. If you are interested Shasta Diet Cola can be found on Amazon here.

6. Tuscanini Italian Diet Cola

If you are looking for an elevated sugar-free cola experience in a glass bottle, then look no further than this diet cola from Tuscanini.

7. Diet Coke

Okay, so I can’t write a post on sugar-free cola and not include the King (or Queen) of sugar-free cola – Diet Coke.

Diet Coke is sweetened with aspartame and can be found on Amazon here.

Diet Coke has a lighter slightly different taste to regular Coke. If you want a sugar-free cola that is closer in taste to regular Coke, then check out Coca-Cola Zero Sugar below.

8. Coca-Cola Zero Sugar

If you want a sugar-free cola that is close in flavor to regular Coke, then definitely check out Coca-Cola Zero Sugar on Amazon here.

Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is sweetened with two sweeteners – aspartame and acesulfame potassium.

9. Diet Pepsi

If you are Team Pepsi over Team Coke, then I am sure you have had Diet Pepsi before. Just like Coke Zero, it is sweetened with aspartame and acesulfame potassium. All you sugar-conscious Pepsi fans can find Diet Pepsi on Amazon here.

If you are looking for a sugar-free Pepsi that is higher in caffeine and tastes more like the original Pepsi, then Pepsi Zero Sugar may be a better option for you.

10. Pepsi Zero Sugar

As I mentioned above Pepsi Zero Sugar (just like Coke Zero) is closer in taste to Original Pepsi than Diet Pepsi. It also has a higher caffeine content to boot.

The sweeteners used are the same though – aspartame and acesulfame potassium.

If this sound like your kind of sugar-free cola you can find it on Amazon here.

My Number 1 Sugar-Free Cola Recommendation?

My number one sugar-free cola recommendation is Green Cola. I love the fact that it is sweetened with just one more natural sweetener – Stevia. I also like the fact the caffeine in it is from green coffee beans (basically unroasted beans) – so there is less chlorogenic acid present. There are also no chemicals or preservatives.

Yes, it doesn’t have a slightly different taste to regular cola (think less sweet and a bit more bitter) but the different taste grows on you.

You can try Green Cola for yourself on Amazon here.

Which Colas Contain No Sugar? What have we learned from the above? Well, when it comes to the most popular soda in existence there is no surprise that there are plenty of sugar-free options available. From Diet Coke to Diet Pepsi to a whole variety of different brand options. Now a lot of sugar-free colas are sweetened with aspartame (including the main brands like Coca-Cola and Pepsi) so if you are looking for an aspartame-free option I would recommend – Zevia or Green Cola.
