In this post, I am going to share the sugar content of all the burgers available on the menu at Hardee’s. Now, before we begin there is something we must clear up. Is it Hardee’s or is it Carl’s Jr? Well, it depends on where you live. Essentially, Hardee’s is what Carl’s Jr is called on the east side of the USA and Carl’s Jr is what Hardee’s is called on the West Side of the USA. In short, the two were separate but were bought together in 1990. Okay, so now we have that out of the way – how much sugar is in a burger from Hardee’s / Carl’s Jr.
How Much Sugar is in a Hardee’s Burger?
Hardee’s burgers contain 7g-17g of sugar. The Frisco is the lowest sugar burger at 7g, along with the sliders and small burgers. Hardee’s Western burgers contain the most sugar at 16g-17g due to BBQ sauce. Hardee’s biscuits contain 4g of sugar – except for the Biscuit & Gravy (5g), Monster (6g), and Smoked Sausage Egg & Cheese (6g).

The Frisco Thickburger at Hardee’s is one of their lowest sugar burgers. So, what exactly is a Frisco burger? A Frisco Thickburger is a beef patty, bacon, Swiss cheese, tomato, and mayonnaise, served on toasted sourdough. A sourdough-based burger! That’s right. The fact that the Frisco Thickburger is the lowest sugar Thickburger indicates that it is the bap that contains most of the sugar in the other burgers.
2. Small Hamburger – 7g of Sugar
A small hamburger is also a lower-sugar burger option at Hardee’s at 7g of sugar. Not a huge surprise given it is a smaller size.

The Mushroom & Swiss burger is the second lowest sugar full-sized burger at Hardee’s, containing 10g of sugar. This burger consists of a beef patty, topped with melted Swiss, and finished with mushroom sauce, served on a toasted potato bun.
7. Bacon Cheese Thickburger – 11g of Sugar

A big cheeseburger from Hardee’s contains 5g more sugar than a small cheeseburger – bringing the sugar content to 13g of sugar.

The superstar burger is like the famous star burger but with double the beef patty and cheese. One of these burgers contains 13g of sugar.
13. Original Beyond Thickburger – 13g of Sugar
If you are veggie then the original Beyond Thickburger at Hardee’s will definitely appeal to you! One of these burgers is made of a Beyond patty, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, dill pickles, ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise on a toasted premium bun. One of these veggie burgers contains 13g of sugar.
14. Monster Double Thickburger – 13g of Sugar
The monster Double Thickburger really is a monster – containing 2 beef patties, 4 strips of bacon, 3 slices of American cheese, and mayonnaise served on a potato bun. One of these monsters contains 13g of sugar.
15. Original Thickburger – 14g of Sugar
An original Thickburger contains 14g of sugar. This simple burger is made of beef patty, melted American cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onions, pickles, mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup, served on a toasted potato bun.
16. Double Original Beyond Thickburger – 14g of Sugar
If you love the sound of a Beyond burger but want to double the Beyond burger then it is great to know this only will increase the sugar in your burger by 1g bringing it to 13g of sugar.
17. Western Bacon Cheeseburger – 16g of Sugar

Hardee’s Burgers and Biscuits Ranked for Sugar Content – The Final Bite
Hardee’s burgers and biscuits ranked for sugar content. What have we learned from the above? Well, if you are looking to get a lower sugar option from Hardee’s then your best option is the Frisco Thickburger, Small Hamburger, or Single Slider. All three come in at 7g of sugar. The Frisco is a great option on the menu – a proper burger in a sourdough bun. This just shows that most of the sugar for the other burgers comes from the wheat buns.
If your preference is a biscuit, then most of the biscuits are low in sugar coming in at 4g of sugar. Only the Biscuit & Gravy, Monster Biscuit, and Smoked Sausage Egg & Cheese are higher (containing 5g to 6g of sugar).
As for drinks, again like most fast-food chains, there is nothing surprising here. There are regular diet soda offerings, iced tea, water, and coffee – all of which are sugar-free.
