The Baja Blast is the version of Mountain Dew drink designed to give a tropical taste of Baja Mexico (it is lime flavored). It is like a tropical Mountain Dew (or to use their words an “intense tropical storm”.

How Much Sugar is in a Freeze from Taco Bell?

A “Freeze” is Taco Bell’s equivalent of a “Slurpee” drink. The sugar content in a Freeze from Taco Bell ranges from 41g of sugar in a small up to 60g of sugar in a large, depending on the flavor.

There are no zero-sugar lemonades available on the menu at Taco Bell. If you are craving a lemonade but want to watch your sugar intake a small Dole lemonade strawberry squeeze is the best option – a small one contains 17g of sugar and a large one contains 21g of sugar.

9 Lowest Sugar Drinks at Taco Bell

Let’s dig into the nine lowest sugar drinks at Taco Bell.

1. Diet Pepsi

All sizes of Diet Pepsi contain 0g of sugar. In comparison, a large Pepsi contains 69g of sugar. That is a big difference between the two drinks. It is particularly great to know you can still enjoy an iced cold Pepsi minus all the sugar next time you are enjoying Tacos.

2. Pepsi Zero Sugar

As well as Diet Pepsi, there is also Pepsi Zero Sugar on the menu at Taco Bell.

Pepsi Zero Sugar also contains (as the name may have given away) 0g of sugar. But hang on what is the difference between Diet Pepsi and Pepsi Zero Sugar? Pepsi Zero Sugar is ginseng infused and contains double the caffeine as a Diet Pepsi. So, if you fancy a zero-sugar soft drink with a strong caffeine hit when visiting Taco Bell then Pepsi Zero Sugar is the drink for you.

It is great that there are some zero sugar sodas on the Taco Bell menu as the non-zero sugar sodas (Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Sierra Mist, and Dr. Pepper) contain 58g-73g of sugar depending on the soda and size.

3. Mountain Dew Baja Blast Zero Sugar

Mountain Dew Baja Blast is a super popular tropical lime-flavored soda. The fountain forms of the drink and the Freeze version are exclusive to Taco Bell.

This means if you are craving a fountain Baja Blast but do not want the sugar you can treat yourself to a cup of the Mountain Dew Baja Blast Zero Sugar next time you are at Taco Bell.

The exclusivity of this fountain zero-sugar drink makes it particularly special.

4. Small G2 Gatorade Fruit Punch

A small G2 Gatorade Fruit Punch contains 9g of sugar – which is low compared to most non-diet drinks.

The G2 Gatorade drinks are lower in sugar as they contain a mix of sugar and sweetener. In comparison, the full sugar sodas at Taco Bell contain 58g-73g of sugar. Even a Tropicana orange juice at Taco Bell contains 28g of sugar (although this is all naturally occurring). A large cup of the Gatorade Fruit Punch contains 12g of sugar.

As this is a Gatorade drink it contains electrolytes that help your body rehydrate after exercise. So, if you are heading to Taco Bell after a workout to refuel and rehydrate, a cup of the G2 Gatorade Fruit Punch is a great option.

5. Iced Tea Special

The iced tea special at Taco Bell contains 0g of sugar no matter what size you order. A refreshing, caffeine hit with no sugar. What makes this blend “special’? Well, to be honest, it is not something I could work out in my research, but it is probably down to the tea blend.

When ordering your iced tea at Taco Bell make sure to order the iced tea special and not the sweet tea special which contains 45g of sugar in a large and 24g of sugar in a small.

6. Lipton Unsweetened Iced Tea

The Lipton unsweetened iced tea available at Taco Bell contains 0g of sugar for any size.

This is different from the Iced Tea Special.

If you are visiting Taco Bell and want an iced tea but are watching your sugar content, then definitely go for a Lipton unsweetened iced tea or iced tea special over the Brisk iced teas. A large Brisk Mango Iced Tea contains 30g of sugar and a large Brisk Dragon Paradise Sparkling Iced Tea contains 21g of sugar.

7. Water

It goes without saying that water is a great healthy zero sugar drink available at Taco Bell. You can either order a cup of water or a bottle of Aquafina at Taco Bell.

8. Premium Hot Coffee

Yes, Taco Bell offers coffee options.

The premium hot coffee at Taco Bell contains 0g of sugar.

It gets even better. Taco Bell’s premium coffee is 45% Rainforest Alliance Certified. This means it is sustainably grown to “benefit farm families, wildlife and the environment“. Awesome.

The premium hot coffee at Taco Bell is a lower sugar option than the Got Cinnamon Delights coffee at Taco Bell. This coffee contains vanilla creamer and cinnamon delights flavors and contains 22g of sugar.

9. Iced Coffee

Iced coffee at Taco Bell is a delicious refreshing caffeine boost that doesn’t contain any sugar (without creamer). The regular iced coffee contains less sugar than the Iced Cinnamon Delights Coffee on the Taco Bell menu which contains 22g of sugar.

Lowest Sugar Drinks at Taco Bell – The Final Bite

Lowest sugar drinks at Taco Bell. So, what have we exactly learned from this post? Well, when it comes to sugar-free drink options, I would say Taco Bell does well. It offers eight sugar-free drinks, of which only two are coffee related. In comparison to other fast-food chains, like Mcdonald’s where most of their sugar-free drinks are all coffee related.

As for lower sugar drinks, the chain also offers some solid choices – aside from the usual Diet Cola offering there is also the exclusive zero sugar Baja Blast Mountain Dew fountain drink, Gatorade offerings, and a range of zero sugar iced teas. Personally, I love iced tea, but with a Taco I think I am going to go with the zero-sugar Baja Mountain Dew Blast. And, if you really love coffee with your tacos there are a couple of lower sugar options there too.

And remember…
