Which Coffee Creamers are lowest in sugar? Coffee creamer – that sweet creamy stuff we add to our morning brew to make them creamier and a little bit more exciting. But exactly how much sugar is in coffee creamers? This is the question I am going to be answering in this post. I have already written articles looking at the sugar content of coconut creamers (Which Coconut Creamers Are Lowest In Sugar?), almond creamers (How Much Sugar is in Almond Creamer & Are Any Sugar Free?), and oat creamers (How Much Sugar Is In Oat Creamers And Which Are Sugar Free?).

However, how much coffee is in regular dairy coffee creamers like Coffee Mate and International Delight?

In order to answer this question, I looked at the sugar content of 20 creamers – both liquid and powdered. Make sure to read to the end to find out what the lowest-sugar coffee creamers are. You may also be shocked to find out that a lot of “zero sugar” creamers still contain, well sugar.

So, let’s dig in – which coffee creamers are the lowest in sugar?

How Much Sugar is in Coffee Creamers

As a general rule, liquid coffee creamers tend to contain 3g-5g of sugar per serving. Powdered coffee creamers tend to contain 0g-1g of sugar per serving. Several “Zero Sugar” coffee creamers tend to contain 0g of sugar per serving but still contain sugar as an ingredient.

Which Coffee Creamers are lowest in sugar - powdered creamer

Powdered Coffee Creamers

Okay, so we have established that most liquid coffee creamers (which aren’t marketed as sugar-free) contain 3g-5g of sugar per serving. However, this is where it starts to get interesting – a lot of the powdered coffee creamers (even those that contain sugar as the first ingredient) only contain 1g or less of sugar per serving.

Now this may partly be because a serving of powdered creamer is small at 2g a serving, whereas a serving of liquid creamer is larger. This does mean, however, that half of the serving of powdered coffee creamers is made up of sugar, but as the serving is so small it still just equates to 1g of sugar.

In comparison, a smaller percentage of liquid creamer is sugar yet the overall sugar content per serving is higher. This is because you need a larger serving of liquid coffee creamer in comparison to powder.
